Beauties beauties!

I had been concentrating on doing a bit more justice to my Etsy store.. I have been adding many new items there, and I have a dozen more to fill it up with. Taking photos was the toughest job than creating, and it has now become a bit easier as my kid goes to playschool, and that is when I squeeze in everything creative, that needs concentration!

Here are some of the new pieces in my shop!

 Set 1:

Muse? Czech glass.

 Set 2:
Muse? Serenity!

 Set 3:
Muse? Majenta!

Set 4:

Muse? The tribes!
The below bracelet has Africal silver charm, which I love!

Set 5:
Muse? Home sweet Home!

 Set 6:

Muse? Dangles!

 Set 7:
Muse? BOHEMIA... :) How could I ever ditch Boho?? :) :)

This is a new experiment with a new photo property I made. It was easier than I thought it would be, and it was easy on my pocket too.. AND, it gives a real life feel of how the necklace looks when worn..
 Set 8:
Muse: Turquoise!

And 9 (:  Glam!
Not my usual style, but I am going to add a couple more sparkly items, just to add a bit more sparkle to my shop during the festive season. You get it!! :)

Thats all!!
And, there will be more, soon..

Did I tell you I graduated recently from New York Institute of Art + Design. Go check out the brand new banner on top right. Yup, proud I am..

Keeping it.. Beautiful.

Focus on Life - Week 37

"IN MOTION"

Just saw Miss.Sally's prompt for this week. After a long time, here. But always enthusiastic about her prompts!

Last week saw me(my little family too) travelling half way across the globe. In motion cannot have a better reference for me today! A vacation, after 2 years, for 3 weeks. Well, its over, and our bodies and minds are slowly buzzing back to normal.

I must definitely keep myself  "In motion" until the next vacation, because, the relatively isolated life in this place sometimes leads me to lethargy, which, till now, I have fought fiercely. There is nothing more depressing than seeing myself in the mirror, with this question on my face "What next", and having just this answer in my mind "Nothing". I must go bang on every door and every opportunity around me to help myself be "In Motion" - Alive.

Over to the pics. This is what I have to share. Taken from the plane.

First one: some ice covered mountain region.

Second : "In Clouds"

Third is a beautiful sunrise/sunset (God knows!),
I almost got a jolt when I opened the window shutter. It was sharp!

PS: Hate thinking of having to look out of the window in the flight like that again in near future: 22 hours up in the air is not fun at all. eeek! But arent the pics quite surreal?

Now I am going to see what other's "In Motion" experiences are.. here

AJE Challenge : Week 25/26

Glass headpins

I had made glass headpins wayyyy back, and will anyone believe if I say I dint know that it could be used as headpins? Yeah, I used to enjoy melting glass under a flame(it used to take way too long for the glass to get soft!), then I used to bend it into petal shaped loops, connect loops together and make a necklace. No metal, no clasp, no nothing! BUT it was soooo fun and of course beautiful! It was always used to adorn portraits of Gods/Goddesses in the house. I don't know how many of you have tried this. Then one day I managed to melt glass into a blob, and put it onto the end of a straight wire. Not to mention I ended up having blisters in my hands. Oh my! What a brat I was! Must have been around 11 or 12 years old then!

Okay, so now after so many years, I thought let me try again making headpins out of glass - to use in jewelry! I tried. I succeeded. I used it in a design of mine. I am planning to sell it on Etsy. Or make more just for me! PS: Does that qualify me for the term 'self-taught'?

So that gives me a pair of earrings to present for the AJE Challenge this week!

And I am way too happy to have gotten featured in the last module of AJE Challenge! See it HERE!

So here it is,

Glass headpins handmade by me

It was such a pleasure to hear from many of you after a long time. Thankyou for stopping by, and leaving comments. It means a lot to me!

Have a great week you all!

PS: What I did in childhood was due to blissfull ignorance of the age; never do lampworking or use a torch without proper precautionary aids and ventillation as heated metal, gas and even the torch can give off toxic by-products.

Focus on Life - Week 25

I have spent many years in doubt whether I am lovable.
I have spent many years rejecting love.
I have spent many years struggling to accept people's love.
Finally one day I came to terms with myself! I am a wild child. But that doesn't mean I need to be tamed to be loved.

I had surrounded myself with rules, boundaries and limitations. I was negative for many years. But, like a caterpillar from a cocoon, I came out of the darkness, and decided to 'live'. I have a few scars. But that just makes me more strong.

And now it is easy for me to accept the fact that:
I am lovable.
I am in people's prayers.

What else do each one of us strive for, in this lifetime?
Lets go see Sally's blog to share other thoughts.

AJE, Again!

I am not sure how many weeks it has been, but finally I am up with a pair of earrings for AJE. Better late than never!

Many craft fairs, studies, creating and such occupied me, keeping myself from blogging; I thought it was not worth blogging if I was not blogging something sensible. So.

Okay here we go with this week's contribution to the AJE Challenge from me:

Copper balled dangler element by me, with wire wrapped reconstituted turquoise. Yeah, the balled ends look like meteors, but still.. I like it the way it is though! Do tell me what you guys think.. It has been a long time hearing from all of you. It's such pleasure to read your comments, I was continuously missing it!

Stocking up for the Craft Fair at Canterbury, Orion, Michigan.. Hope to blog about that adventure real soon!!

Thats it for now!

Visit the Pinterest board for AJE here.

PS: This got featured!! See it here.

                                                          Week 18 : Photo 18

Here is an abstract!! I could'nt consider anything more abstract than this in my picture..!! And it somehow symbolises the word 'Flourish', my word for 2013.

Here after many weeks of absense, but yay, I made it again.

A poem to ponder!

A little poem for all those who had been there.. I wrote it this morning. And thought all my friends would be able to relate to the feeling I am trying to convey here.. We all, at some point, go through this path. Emerge being more beautiful than we already are, and whether we are acknowledged by the world or not(world can be hostile at times) we are on a journey well travelled!

I see me in the mirror
Like a full moon in the river
Scars - there are of a fighter
As has the moon if you look closer!

The shallow paths of fear and doubt is over
Now- the thick lush path of love and honour
Tears they say - of joy, not of pain
I must agree there wasn't anything but joy

Stories made to believe - was not of any good
And to find out with shudder- white lies told
Yes it evolves from under every rock in deserts
That striking color of knowledge inherent!

Show the path the footsteps, just one time
The other foot just limps-marking a line
Where? they might ask- is your mark on earth
"Here, here" I say- pointing to people's heart..

I see me in the mirror
Like a full moon in the river
Scars there are of the journey of a lover
Of nature- of a land that dint exist ever..

And, Never Give Up! Have a great week ahead..
