AJE Challenge : Week 3

Here's my latest for AJE Earring challenge

A rustic boho earrings, with forged elements :

With handforged patina-ted connector and Chinese charms. Embellished with wirewrapped serpentine. I have tried to create a balance with steel, gold and brass.

And a fun romantic pair for Valentine's :

This is a mismatched pair, one is stuffed with love, other is overflowing with love. Love - in either form is sweet!! A pair of wooden beads were handpainted, and a bit of leather, and two porcelain beads which has that blood red tint, holds together the feel of the earring pair!

My Life : Week 4 Photo 4

Sometimes some people holds a bright mirror against us, an enlarging mirror in fact, and make us see some faboulous things we have long forgotten about ourselves. And now Miss.Sally Russick has done(is doing) just that to me(us). She has refreshed the whole being that is me, just in the past 3 weeks! I just wonder how much more of myself she will help discover. But one thing is for sure, she is going to transform each of us into much much better and confident and self aware human beings, by the end of 2013.

This week's prompt for "Focus on Life" was "Create Art". Indulge in anything that helps you create art. Free your heart of trapped energy. Let colors fill your soul. And I did that, this week. Actually her prompt made me do many a creative thing, but I am presenting the one which is most colorful. I love colors!! 
PS: I made it just today, I wonder how many of you might have spent the week waiting for that "twitch" moment, jump in and create and call it ART, finally!!

So, Sally Russick wanted us ladies to give ourselves some time. Nice idea. 

What can I do for myself? What is that I want to do for myself? Or that I should do? Getting answers to these questions itself seemed so overwhelming. Overwhelming? I know the answer to that - I mean to come out of that. "Meditate". Yes, I took time to meditate. Look into myself. Think about myself. Fair enough. So here is something that might tempt you as well, to relax, to meditate. To look into that beautiful soul of yours!

A tiny bit of Big Happiness!

Followers, Members what is it?

I know its takes time, it takes effort. So, each 'plus 1' to that prestigious list is a blessing, a thing to be proud of, and of course a reason to work hard. I think today I am going to celebrate my members! FOUR is a good number after all! But I think and wish I do get a bit more love, you know what I mean..! Five is good, so is Six, so is Seven.... and.... Let me give my big smile here.

First member was a 'Surprise'. Second was 'Just Awesome'. Third and Fourth was - well, I blinked thrice to check whether I was seeing the existing two as double. No it was not. What a great feeling to start a Monday! I hope I would be even more happier by the weekend.

But seriously, its very easy for anyone to make me happy. Because it takes very little effort for me to be happy. My daughter waking up with a smile, seeing a bird while opening the window, an old man nodding at you in return for your smile, an elderly lady patting your shoulder when you just helped her pick up the jar of confetti she dropped, why there are only reasons around each of us to be happy!

I am not forgetting the very real feelings like pain and loss and more serious things here. Yes, I too have lost a couple of lovely years in pain, in frustration, in not being able to be out and about. But sometimes its soothing to let go of the big picture and focus on the little things around you. The ones that you dont need to take effort to bring near you, but which are already with you, just around you. Derive the energy to do big things, right from the tiny bits of blessings that is scattered all around you! So, today I am celebrating a tiny bit of big happiness that I am blessed with - an additional 2 members in my followers list. Isnt life simple? (Oh I could hear that "Hip hip Hoorray!!")


And yes, it is OK to hold a lollipop upside down, at times ;)

When I read Sally Russick's Week 2 prompt for the photo challenge, the first word that came to my mind was "Pilgrim". As in Enya's lovely album Pilgrim :"Pilgrim it's a long way, To find out who you are.."

But a word for 2013? It definitely should be something else. Because when I had accepted that all I was and will ever be is an Interior Designer, which I chose to become with so much passion, little did I think that the road that leads to me has a sharp bent, and in that bent hides my destiny to become a Jewelry Designer too.. How can I not be happy when I am given another chance to know Art even more, even better? 

And now it's time for me to complete my assignment, "Word for 2013" - A word that propels me to work hard.. I should work all the time, because somehow, the devil is so fond of my idle mind. Work Hard, actually. And this word : "Flourish" has the power to make me take a deep breath, and shake off all boundaries(if at all) around me, swing my wings, and soar high!

AJE Earring Challenge

I love to make earrings. Very obvious, if you visit my Etsy shop too. But, making earrings with beads handmade by me was a very recent challenge I took for myself. So, when I saw the AJE Earring Challenge, I thought of jumping right in! I needed that something to keep me hooked on the process. And getting a place in their Pinterest Board was an added bonus!

So, I have added two earrings onto the pinboard, and here is the latest I made, completely with beads made at home, by me. I kept the process simple. A bit of layering, and some buffing.

Here it is: "Man and Woman" or "Be mine"
